  • Dip a mini marshmallow in chocolate and then use that for the base of the body of the spider. Then add legs.

Tips For Success

Piping Bag

You will add the white chocolate to a piping bag, or Ziploc bag. You will cut the tip of the bag to use if you don’t have a piping bag. This will work for adding a drizzle of white chocolate to the pretzels.

Smooth Chocolate

Make sure to heat your chocolate until nice and smooth. Then you will use it once creamy to swirl on the pretzels. If it is not fully smooth you can add a little coconut oil to the chocolate.

Parchment Paper

I recommend using wax or parchment paper on a baking sheet so it is a nonstick surface and easy to move around.

Start in Center

When you are swirling on the chocolate you want to start in the center of the pretzels and work your way out. This will help to offer the best web effect.

Add Sprinkles Quickly

Decorate one pretzel at a time as the chocolate dries quickly. So swirl one, then add the sprinkles next. Then move on to the next pretzels.

Toothpick for Details

Use a toothpick for making legs for a spider. This will help to give you a nice detailed design.

Storing

Room Temperature: You can store any of the pretzels at room temperature in a sealed airtight container. Make sure that the spider web pretzels are fully set up before you go to store them.

Freezing: You can also freeze pretzels. If you stack the webs then place wax between each layer to prevent them from sticking. The pretzels will freeze for 5-6 months.

FAQs

How do I melt white chocolate for dipping?

You can melt white chocolate in the microwave and stir between each 30-second heat increment. You need to make sure the chocolate gets nice and creamy. Don’t overheat or it will burn the chocolate.

Do I need any special tools to make spider web-dipped chocolate pretzels?

A toothpick and a piping bag are two items I recommend. The toothpick will help to ensure you create the legs on the spider. A piping bag is great for adding chocolate to swirl on pretzels. But you could also cut a small tip on a Ziploc bag as well.

How long does the chocolate take to set on the pretzels?

When you use candy melts or almond bark the chocolate will set up within minutes. Now if you use white chocolate and add in shortening it can take 10-30 minutes for the chocolate to set.

Go right ahead and buy spider candies and use that for placing on the spider webs. Just make sure the proportions are similar so it fits.
