Chinese Pepper Steak

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 pounds ribeye steak cut into bite sized cubes
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 medium white onion cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 red bell pepper cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 green pepper cut into bite-sized pieces
Sauce:
- 1 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1 teaspoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Garnishes:
- Sliced green onion
- Sesame seeds
- Serve with rice or noodles
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large saute pan.
- Place the meat in a large bowl and combine the soy sauce and cornstarch, then pour over the meat and toss. Sprinkle it with pepper and add to the hot oil. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, turning to brown all sides.
- Remove the meat and add the onion and peppers and cook for 4 minutes.
- Combine all the sauce ingredients together in a bowl and pour over the peppers. Simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken, then add the meat back into the pan.
- Simmer for another 3 to 4 minutes.
- Remove and serve over rice or noodles. Add a sprinkle of green onions and sesame seeds.
